Dr. Jim Hunter

Chief Information Security Officer

Dr. Jim Hunter has been engaged with Bloom Corporation since November 2022, acting as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). His primary focus is ensuring compliance with relevant Health Industry (HIPAA) and Country and State Privacy regulations.

Dr. Hunter began his career as a Research Fellow, and a visiting Senior Research Fellow, at City University London before moving to the CEGB (later Nuclear Electric) in their Physics Research Laboratories. In 1990, he transitioned to IBM, where he enjoyed a diverse and extensive 31-year career. He left IBM in April 2021 as a senior certified (executive) IT Architect and Open Group Distinguished Architect. Throughout his tenure at IBM, he held various roles including Executive Architect, Architect, and IT Specialist across multiple internal organizations.

Dr. Hunter's expertise spans multiple industry sectors, specializing in platform implementations, security and data compliance, process re-engineering, and service delivery improvement. He has extensive experience in technical architecture development, project and program management, and managing end-to-end project lifecycles.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Hunter is dedicated to volunteering. He is actively involved in educational and engagement work with the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).

He is based in Edinburgh, UK.
